Second time visiting during work travels. The coach Thomas was very welcoming and chatty. The gym could do with some deep cleaning though in the red room itself and in the bathrooms. The shake was yummy. Expensive compared to Barcelona.
The studio is decent. The red room is spacious with clear audio. It has much better merchandise than Berlin or Barcelona, albeit expensive. Great neighbourhood near the foodie delights of Rue Montorgueil. The deskers were friendly and patient. What I didn't like? Look, the 50-minute classes just don't work for a Barry's UK person. It's too short, especially for €36 per class, and it makes the runs almost always feel perfunctory and generic: jog, run a bit faster, properly run, sprint, rest and go again. Yawn. We are much luckier in London.
Compared to Berlin or Gothenburg, this studio is significantly more expensive but offers less. The space isn't always very clean, basic toiletries are missing, and classes are run in both French and English, which can be confusing. I'd strongly prefer classes to be held in English only for better clarity.
Barry's Paris has amazing classes and the location is great, which is really the main reason to go. Unfortunately, the studio itself is not clean at all and feels quite disgusting compared to what you'd expect from Barry's. The merchandise is cute, but extremely overpriced for what it is. On top of that, the staff isn't very friendly or welcoming. Overall, it's an average spot at best, especially disappointing when Barry's studios in other countries are so much better in terms of cleanliness, service, and overall experience.
Overall, this is a solid Barry's located in the heart of Paris. Pros - decent instructors who deliver a clear workout in both French and English, great workout, clean facilities, easy to locate. Cons - a few rude front desk staffers (especially one thin man with dark hair and beard), did not fully honor deal pricing they have with a local hotel. Would go back the next time I am in Paris for the workout - not specifically for the staff or the environment.
