Regenerate Fitness and Rehabilitation - Gym in San Diego

San Diego, United States

Regenerate Fitness and Rehabilitation isn't a gym you join - Google categorizes it as a physiotherapist's practice, and despite "Fitness" in the name, every one of its five written reviews describes one-on-one physical therapy with a single named practitioner: DJ.

One Name, Five Independent Reviews

That's the single most striking thing about this listing: all five written reviews, spanning from December 2025 to June 2026, name the same practitioner, DJ, and none mentions any other therapist. Amber Lee, a competitive dancer, describes a specific breakthrough: "I spent over a year with constant foot pain that doctors consistently ignored. It was preventing me from dancing completely for way too long. After treatment with DJ I am back to dancing alongside my students and way stronger than I was before." Marina Kfouri describes his method rather than just the outcome: "DJ is very knowledgeable and takes the time to understand the root cause of issues rather than just treating symptoms. His attention to detail really stands out; he carefully watches movement, posture, and technique."

Athletes Specifically, Not General Patients

The five reviewers aren't a random cross-section of patients - every one of them identifies as an athlete of some kind. Ayodope Anise: "As an avid runner and crossfitter I had a frustrating injury that had sidelined my running and limited my range of motion. DJ was attentive, knowledgeable and supported my desire to get back to running." Amber Lee is a competitive dancer and dance teacher. That pattern suggests this practice specifically serves an athletic population trying to return to a specific sport or activity, rather than general orthopedic patients - worth knowing if you're recovering from injury and want a therapist experienced with performance goals, not just pain reduction.

Beyond the Clinic Walls

Marina Kfouri's review adds a detail that goes past standard physical therapy: "I also appreciate that he goes beyond the clinic by helping me understand which exercises to watch out for at the gym and how to modify movements to avoid re-injury. This guidance has been incredibly helpful in allowing me to stay active while recovering from my shoulder/neck pain." That's a specific claim about ongoing gym-context guidance, not just in-office treatment - useful if you want a therapist who'll help translate recovery into your regular training routine, not just clear you and send you off.

A Referral Chain Worth Noting

Paige Scannapieco's review describes how she found DJ: "I met him through Burn bootcamp for an intro session." Ayodope Anise found him through a friend's recommendation. Two different paths into the same practitioner, both from fitness-adjacent contexts rather than a standard doctor's referral, which fits the athlete-focused pattern across all five reviews.

What's Missing

No review states a session price or whether insurance is accepted. Nothing describes the clinic space itself. All five written reviews are five stars and describe DJ specifically; nothing in the record represents another practitioner at this practice or a critical account of any kind.

Who It's Not For

Anyone looking for a gym membership with independent equipment access - this is a one-on-one physical therapy practice, not a fitness facility you train at on your own. Anyone who needs pricing or insurance information up front, since neither appears in any of the five reviews.

16516 Bernardo Center Dr #100, San Diego, CA 92128. The phone number is +1 920-941-0136, and the website is regeneratept.com. Open Monday through Friday 09:00-18:00.

FAQ

Is this a gym?

Not in the conventional sense. Google categorizes it as a physiotherapy practice, and every review describes one-on-one treatment with a named therapist rather than independent gym access.

Who provides treatment?

A practitioner named DJ is named in all five written reviews; no other therapist is mentioned.

Does it specialize in a particular kind of patient?

Based on the reviews, yes - every reviewer identifies as an athlete (a competitive dancer, a runner and crossfitter, and others recovering from sport-related injuries) rather than a general orthopedic patient.

Does treatment extend beyond the clinic?

According to one reviewer, yes - she describes receiving specific guidance about which gym exercises to modify or avoid during recovery, not just in-office treatment.

DJ was my saving grace! Im a previous competitive dancer and a dance teacher and I spent over a year with constant foot pain that doctors consistently ignored. It was preventing me from dancing completely for way too long. After treatment with DJ I am back to dancing alongside my students and way stronger than I was before. Even though my biggest complaint was my foot, he took the time to address any other concerns he saw or I felt. This overall made my entire body stronger and has improved my dancing. I no longer have hip or back pain and I recover much faster than I ever did. Instead of just treating the issue, he made sure I had the tools to prevent similar things from happening in the future. I'm so thankful!!!

DJ is very knowledgeable and takes the time to understand the root cause of issues rather than just treating symptoms. His attention to detail really stands out; he carefully watches movement, posture, and technique and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. I also appreciate that he goes beyond the clinic by helping me understand which exercises to watch out for at the gym and how to modify movements to avoid re-injury. This guidance has been incredibly helpful in allowing me to stay active while recovering from my shoulder/neck pain, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and attentive physical therapist!

DJ is great. I met him through Burn bootcamp for an intro session. He is extremely knowledgeable and helped me with working on some back and neck problems. I wasn't injured either and I feel his help is keeping me running and working out without him I probably would have thrown my back out again! Highly recommend!

A good friend recommended DJ for physical therapy and I'm happy I listened. As an avid runner and crossfitter I had a frustrating injury that had sidelined my running and limited my range of motion. DJ was attentive, knowledgeable and supported my desire to get back to running. He ensured I was able to improve my range of motion, maintain strength, and get back out on the trails! I'd highly recommend him!
