An Annual Fee For Upgrades Nobody Can Find
A member in June 2026, two stars: "I have only been at the gym six months and they have already raised the rate without notifying me. On top of the monthly fee, the gym charges a fee at the beginning of the year that is supposed to be for upgrades. I have not seen any, I have asked others who have been going to the gym much longer and they haven't either."
Two separate charges to understand there. A monthly rate that went up without notice within six months. And an annual fee, on top, earmarked for upgrades.
The interesting part is that she didn't just take her own view of it: she asked longer-standing members whether they'd seen the upgrades. They hadn't.
I can't verify what that fee funds or whether anything was upgraded. Annual maintenance fees are common in US gyms and they're usually in the contract. But "what does the annual fee pay for, and what did it buy last year?" is a fair question, and one member has already found that nobody can answer it.
Note what she does next, which I respect: "This rating doesn't reflect the instructors though, they are great. Carolee's classes are amazing and would give her 10 stars if I could."
Two stars for the business, ten for the instructor. She's separating the two, and so should you.
It's Only Fully Open Four Days A Week
A member in April 2026, two stars, does the arithmetic: "Overall a great gym, but the extremely limited hours are a huge negative for me. They are essentially only fully open 4 days per week (closed Sundays, closed by 12 PM on Fridays and Saturdays). Anyone who works during the day or has school essentially has to skip 3 whole days of the gym if they want to be a member here."
The listing backs her up exactly. Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 20:00. Friday and Saturday, 06:00 to 12:00. Closed Sunday.
So: four full days, two half days that end at noon, and one day shut. If you work Monday to Friday, your Friday session has to happen before lunch, your Saturday too, and Sunday doesn't exist.
That's the single most important fact on this page, and it's the sort of thing people discover in month two. She gave two stars while calling it "overall a great gym," which tells you how much the hours cost her.
What Members Love
The instructors, unambiguously, and they're named.

A member in February 2026: "This gym is seriously the friendliest place! It feels like working out with friends instead of strangers!"
A member in April 2026: "It's the best gym for a young girl in the AV. It is always kept so clean and the staff are so nice and helpful."
Notice the pattern across all five reviews, including the two-star ones: everybody likes the people. The complaints are about the business, never the coaching. Even the member who says it "could also be a bit cleaner" gives her instructor ten stars.
Who It's Not For
Men. And anyone who works standard hours and wants to train at the weekend, since Friday and Saturday end at noon and Sunday is shut.
