Life Time - Gym in New York, United States

Love the location. After reading some of the comments, I'll admit that I was a bit hesitant. I arrived shortly after it opened one day and late morning another. Both weekdays. Other than waiting a small bit for one machine, which happens at my home gym, I have zero complaints. Clean lockers, common areas and workout spaces. Friendly welcome each visit. Pretty cool they have a dedicated Alpha Space. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Would have taken more pictures but didn't want to be "that guy". 😁

Joining and becoming a member of Lifetime Fitness has been an absolute thrill. The gym's location is incredibly convenient, especially for early morning workouts. There's ample parking, and the gym is usually open from 6 to 8:30 AM, which suits my schedule perfectly. The gym offers a wide range of equipment, including machines, swimming pools, cold plunge, sauna, and steam rooms. This variety ensures that there's something for everyone, whether you're looking to work out on the machines, take a dip in the pool, or relax in the sauna. As an avid pickleball player, I'm always excited to find that there are almost always two courts available throughout the week. This makes it easy for me to schedule my games and enjoy the sport.

I was in NYC for one night and decided to get in an early-morning workout before leaving. While I was working out, cash was stolen, my credit card information was compromised, and potentially other personal information was taken from my wallet. I am unfamiliar with the tier of this Life Time location, but you would expect that at a luxury gym, regardless of tier, this kind of incident would not happen. I am also inclined to believe that a member of the male locker room staff may have been responsible, as my locker was still locked with the original passcode when I retrieved my bag. I was initially hesitant to speculate about the location of the theft, but after reviewing the sequence of events, I am over 95 percent certain it occurred at this location. The timeline is as follows: the night before, I withdrew $70 in cash from my hotel ATM before going to bed. Once in my hotel room, I placed my wallet in my gym bag and went to sleep. I woke up at 5:45 a.m. and arrived at Life Time around 6:20 a.m., where I worked out until 8:00 a.m. A friend then picked me up from Life Time to drive me back to the hotel and then to the airport. When I got into my friend's car after leaving Life Time, I noticed the cash was missing, though all cards were still in my wallet. At the time, I assumed I had misplaced the cash. However, during my flight to Palm Beach, I noticed unauthorized transactions on my cards. At that point, theft became the most plausible explanation. After checking recent reviews of this location, I saw that a similar incident was reported less than a month ago. The gym itself is nice. However, due to compromised security. I will not be returning to this location. Luckily it was $70, could have been a lot worse. For those in the area who do use this Life Time location, please be aware that items stored in lockers may not be secure.

Do NOT join. Lifetime is a scammer. I contacted them to cancel the membership of a family member due to no longer in this area. The staff told me, only the member can cancel, although I was the payer. I knew that was a lie. I called back again as soon as I saw another new charge, this time another lie, "We can't cancel now, because already shows a charge. Next month we will not charge again." Although my credit card said, it is on pending, and the merchant should do the right thing to credit me back. Again, Lifetime just charged me, even they said will not charge again. I called back my cc, they look into my record and took action on behalf of me. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HOW DISHONEST Lifetime conduct their businesses.
