Dothan Athletic Club

One of the large and popular gyms in Dothan, AL. There is everything one could ask for in a gym except a pool. There a ton of cardio machines, free weights, two weight rooms, exercise room, etc. I went there as a guest with a friend and was pretty impressed to note that a small town such as Dothan has a great gym like this. I am going to become a member soon and start enjoying the facility and getting healthier.

I went in an cancelled my contract because Crunch was coming to Dothan and had to fill out a cancellation form. I had no issues with Dothan Athletic Club. I then went to Crunch to get my membership and read their contract and they charge $175 to cancel plus $25 process fee and in the contract it says they can change the draft date and amount at any time without notification so, I returned to Dothan Athletic Club and I will stay there always. I love the staff and the cleanliness and have never had an issue with the use of the steam room like the guy in one review claims but I heard and his gf are making negative reviews on here because they are upset they didn't pay their bills and it went to collections. All the people at this gym are good Christian people.

When I signed up for the membership I ask the employee about the military clause. They stated no problem we are military friendly once you get orders just come back and cancel no problem. However I came in completed the form and now owner is saying he has no military clause . I have to pay fee for breaking my contract and serving my country. Horrible business not military friendly at all .All Military members do not use this location find a different gym !!

This by far is the worst business I have ever encountered. I went in and canceled my membership in April, paid my last month for May. I was waived all of my cancellation fees because they never had me sign the back of the contract stating their fees. I received written confirmation from their manager stating it was cancelled. They have sent me to collections. After calling multiple times and EVEN GOING IN with their cancellation document and receiving an apology from the manager himself stating he will take care if it, THEY STILL HAVE NOT. I now will be sending two emails with attached documents and I'm pretty upset with how they handle business. Worst gym ever and even worse customer service.

This place is a joke!!! I signed up for 24 hour access along with the access of the steam room. These two privileges were breached months into my contract. I continued to pay because I was in contract, I asked the owner about the steam room and his reply was, do you I have $5,000 to repair the steam room? My contract was up in April and I called to get instructions and to make sure I would not be charged for following month. I was told I was set. A month later I was billed again. I called back to get understanding and never got a phone call back. I was then billed again a second month before I was told to come fill out a cancellation form. I came by a filled it out and was given a speech about a new gym coming to Dothan. Why not to join them and why I should stay a member. The manner of how they treated my situation was completely unprofessional! I wouldn't refer anybody to this place. I understand that I'm just a small number to this business and If I my business doesn't matter, why is it so hard for them to not refund my two months of membership. I ask everyone to think twice about joining this gym, because the manner that business is conducted there is highly questionable.
