Spunk Fitness Silver Spring

I enjoy Spunk. It's not new but they recently installed several new pieces of equipment. There's an area for pullups using various hand grips, a heavy bag, and a trampoline. They also just put in some artificial turf. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to do innovative exercises there! My dance partner and I use the large exercise room frequently. It has mirrors and a speaker. You can also borrow their auxiliary cord to play your own music. As you can see from my picture the exercise room has lots of space for you to stretch out!

I was a member for several years. Yes, the gym is cheap, and to a certain degree you get what you pay for. In the end, I was verbally and physically assaulted by a group of thugs at the gym solely because I'm white. I complained to the front desk and nothing happened. I literally did nothing or said anything to these guys (didn't even look at them). They started to shove my bar while I was working out. I let it go the first few times and then I asked them politely to please stop. Their "leader" (a middle aged black guy - the bulk were younger hispanics) then suddenly accused me of being a "Trump Supporter" - ironic, since I didn't vote for the guy, nor was politics ever mentioned; then they surrounded me. I'm a working full time single dad and don't have the time and too much to risk being surrounded by racist animals like this. Join at your own risk.
