GoodLife Fitness Oakville Oak Park and Dundas

Oakville, Canada

GoodLife Fitness Oak Park and Dundas is on Oak Walk Drive in Oakville, Ontario. It holds a 4.1 rating from 30 Google reviews. The record stopped in August 2020.

Thirty ratings is small for a chain club, and the two most useful reviews are both complaints about time.

You Enter Through A Supermarket

A member in June 2018, four stars, gives three practical facts nobody else does: "Small gym, no towel service. I wish it was 24 hours though. You have to enter through Superstore. There is a room for classes. It's a decent size. Washrooms are clean enough."

Enter through Superstore. That's the sort of thing you'd otherwise spend ten minutes working out in a car park.

No towel service, small, one class room, not 24 hours. Four concrete facts in one short review, and it's the most informative thing on the page despite being eight years old.

The Hours Were Cut While It Got Busier

A member of three years, in November 2019, four stars: "This is a gym with very friendly staff and nice clients. Physically I feel calm and safe working out here. However, it has become very packed this year with the new houses on Dundas and the hours has been cut. Weekdays closes at 9 instead of 10 and weekends close at 2 instead of 5-6. I'm disappointed that it closes super early on weekends even though the gym has become significantly more packed. I haven't been able to workout on weekend at all because it closes at 2."

Read the two halves together. More members, because of new housing on Dundas. Fewer hours: weekdays lost an hour, weekends lost three or four.

A weekend close at 14:00 means a Saturday afternoon session doesn't exist. She says plainly she stopped training at weekends entirely.

No hours are published on the listing now, so I can't tell you whether they've been restored. But a three-year member documenting exactly what changed, and by how much, is worth more than any current guess I could make.

The One-Star Is A Pandemic Artifact

A member in August 2020, one star, complains that hours were cut to 12 per week rather than 12 per day, that entry became pre-booked, and that missing or late-cancelling two classes in two weeks had consequences.

That's August 2020. Capacity limits and booked slots were what gyms did that year, and they ended. Read it as a snapshot, not a policy.

There is one thing in it worth carrying forward: he describes a penalty for late cancellations. Whether GoodLife still enforces that outside a pandemic, I don't know, and it's a fair question if you book classes.

The other one-star-adjacent review, a two-star from August 2020, reads in full: "Stock at an all-time low last time I went in." I've no idea what that means, and it's the kind of thing that drags a 30-rating average without telling you anything.

The Positive Side

A member in April 2019: "Very knowledgeable, kind and friendly staff! I had Julia assess me before starting and she was great, and very easy to talk to! Would definitely recommend this specific location to any woman!"

An assessment before starting, and a specific recommendation to women. That's the only thing anyone says about the onboarding.

Who It's Not For

Anyone who trains Saturday afternoons, if the 14:00 close held.

Anyone wanting a big floor. Two members call it small.

Anyone expecting towels.

FAQ

Through the Superstore, according to a member.

I’ve been going to this gym for 3 years. This is a gym with very friendly staff and nice clients. Physically I feel calm and safe working out here. However, it has become very packed this year with the new houses on Dundas and the hours has been cut. Weekdays closes at 9 instead of 10 and weekends close at 2 instead of 5-6. Although I look forward to working out here as it is a nice environment, I’m disappointed that it closes super early on weekends even though the gym has become significantly more packed. I haven’t been able to workout on weekend at all because it closes at 2 and I usually have errands in the morning.

Great staff, non caring management They reduced working hours to 12 per week instead of per day and we have to understand that because of COVID The 12 hours per week are by pre booking instead of free entrance as before and we have to understand that because of COVID You miss two classes or do a late cancellation of two classes in two weeks and no one cares !!! Your family commitment, work commitment and even covid new time frames count for nothing with the gym management. You have to understand and respect there COVID measures, they don’t have to understand or respect your family, work and COVID measures, you miss or cancel two classes, you got banned from booking for a week !!!! Even not two days. I paid full year in advance, asking for my Money back, no way ! They are free to change there terms from the one you signed and paid for and you can’t complain !!
