24/7, convenient location, and a great price. There are a few pieces of equipment I wish they had but working overnights always being able to access the gym makes this a five out of five for me.
Having a gym in town that offers childcare is such a blessing. I love all the equipment, and the darker colors on the walls are calming and not overstimulating for a change. The owner has also added such a homey, welcoming touch to the aesthetic. It was truly an unexpected pleasure to see.
The aesthetics of this gym only adds to my personal motivation to show up and get it done! It’s family owned and offers the right equipment making it just about perfect! If you need childcare, they’ve got you covered!

The Kenai/Soldotna area desperately needed a gym with a childcare option for parents. Black River Fitness has done just that! The facility is always clean, the aesthetic is beautiful, and the kids room is stocked with toys to keep kids busy and active. My son has enjoyed his time in the play room every single time we’ve come. Being able to work out 5 times per week is such a gift. Paying for childcare outside of a gym just to go work out is so expensive, but Black River Fitness has made it both possible and accessible at such an affordable price. The facility is definitely smaller, but the app lets you see how many people are working out so you can avoid busy times if need be. There are limited machines but all the basics are covered! Can’t say enough good things about this gym. So grateful for this addition to our community!
