Good environment all round. Caffeteria excellent. Common areas clean. Classes in time, equipment in good order. Im impressed everyday 3 years attending here 👌
Arguably the best gym in the South of Joburg. It’s a world class gym facility with two swimming pools, 3 studios, excellent cardio equipment, all-inclusive weights section, generous changeroom facilities, sauna, steamroom, Club-V for the kids and, a Kauai eatery. There’s also ample security-controlled parking. All the equipment is well-maintained, the club is spotless and the staff members are extremely professional. There are a couple of running groups who use the gym as a start / finish point. They’ll help you tackle the punishing hills of Glenvista and surrounds. The classes are very popular hence booking is essential.
Great gym and facilities, and I enjoy training here. However, I am disappointed that this club still does not offer Pilates Reformer classes. Many other Virgin Active clubs already have Reformer Pilates studios and classes available, so it feels like this club is being left behind. Considering the membership premiums we pay, I believe it is time for this facility to offer the same level of wellness services. There is growing demand for Reformer Pilates due to its benefits for strength, flexibility, posture, and rehabilitation. I hope Virgin Active Glenvista will look into introducing Reformer Pilates classes at this club in the near future, as it would be a valuable addition for members.
You need to fight for your life at this gym to get a workout in. No Aircons, insufficient amount of equipment vs the foot traffic, people hogging multiple machines in peak times etc. There were days where I had to just go into the yoga studio and freestyle a workout because I couldn't get any machines. Very disappointing with the amount of space available and the membership price. The other amenities like the pool and sauna/steam room are really nice and well kept
These machine are old and rusted, I don’t think they have been replaced in 10 yrs
