Omni Club East Athens

I guess you can't really complain about the price (40 bucks a month) because you get a lot for it (there are some free classes and a daycare center and such) but if you're looking for a gym to work out in, they don't have many free weights/racks, the environment is awful, at least on east side, only a couple of the staff are friendly at all, management is poor, you can't back out of your contract (oh yeah did I mention you have to sign a year contract or you cant be a member?) unless you're moving to a zip code that's like 40 miles from an omni or some stupid thing like that, they will hound the hell out of you to join classes, bring friends, etc. Overall a terrible experience, but hey they had a pool table in the bathroom, that was cool I guess.

This place is a joke, they are money hungry, don't care about helping you in any kid of way, any way they can charge you for something they will. The people who work at the front are always rude and act like it is terrible to work there. I don't think out of the 4 months I have been going here that one has ever smiled at me or anything coming in the door. They usually have their heads down in their phones. The consultant who signed me up, never told me about the 3rd month "basically maintenance fee" they throw on you which is 60 bucks PLUS they charge you, your regular membership fee on top of that. HUGE inconvenience for people. Not to mention I thought when I signed up back in April I was going to have all the time in the world to come work out, last month I finished school, started working a full time job and started my externship for school and haven't been able to use the gym for over a month. Do you think they let you cancel your membership if you can't use it anymore? NOPE. You basically would have to take a freaking lawsuit out on them to get away from this place, unless you let them sucks you dry of all the money you have. Oh and they need a 3 month notice before you cancel your membership before it runs out, or they automatically sign you up again and start charging your card without asking you. Heads up if you think this is the best option for you. There are plenty of other much nicer gyms in Athens that are WAY cheaper and offer the same stuff with FRIENDLIER staff. coming from a college student that doesn't have much money and at the time thought she could afford all of this and have the time for it, it was great, now I'm struggling to make my payment to them every month and do even get to go! Plus moving soon and will be stuck paying them forever! Your choice guys!

Terrible service. I was given a membership consultant to give me the information about joining. I told him from the beginning that I was looking for a short term, low cost membership. After listening to his very long and rehearsed intro and given a very long tour of the gym, we finally sat down to discuss what membership would be the best. It was like he didn't even hear me say low cost and short term. I was then told over and over that the personal training (which is insanely overpriced) and 12 month lease is what I should do. When I told him I didn't want a long term membership because I am beginning nursing school in the fall and wouldn't have the time to get my full money's worth, he asked me "Well do you not care about your health?" which I found extremely rude and ignorant. Once I finally made it clear that I did not want a membership here, he appeared very annoyed, even though I remained polite despite being accused of not caring about my health because school is my first priority. I will not be joining the club after this terrible encounter. All they see is dollar signs, not people trying to be healthy.

The inside looks very clean and appealing but do not let that fool you. This gym is expensive and the salespeople really put a lot of pressure on you the first day. He pushed really hard for me to sign up for the extra classes that they offer, but neglected to inform me of that fact that when you sign up for an class, you are not allowed to drop it or switch it to another class. They locked me into an extra fifty dollars for the year because from what I understood, you were allowed to change or drop classes throughout your contract and this was not the case. Besides the crookedness, things just seem to not get fixed like the decline bench that has been "out of order" for the last two months.
