I've been a member for around 7years and love the gym. No hero's here. Staff are the best. Friendly and helpful. The area is always clean. Air conditioned environment with modern facilities and equipment. A great range of free weights and machines. If you're looking to continue your training or making a change in your life I can't recommend Plus Fitness Maroubra highly enough. .
I would give 0 stars if I could. AVOID at all costs. Basic gym Zero service I visited twice during a free trial period and haven't visited in 9 months yet paid for membership this whole time. There is no lock in contract yet I can't cancel and I live interstate. Every other gym allows written notice to cancel, yet it is so convoluted and difficult to access to cancel via plus fitness. No-one is willing to help. After multiple emails in the past three months: first they say you have to come in to cancel, a month later they say you can cancel online, three months later they say you can cancel remotely (all with a 30 day notice period, of course) Why wasn't this option given to me the first time instead of wasting my time energy and money on this? I cancelled the direct debit agreement with my bank and they immediately threaten debt collectors and court action, yet I've been paying for three months since I requested cancellation. Dodgy business practices. Reported to fair trading.
In the end, I paid $160 to use the gym 3 times at Maroubra because I never received the proper service that was available at all the other locations! The service was HORRIBLE, and the Kingsford location is MUCH BETTER; the girl there tells you everything correctly!
