Croydon has eight gyms in our directory, five rated on Google, with scores between 3.5 and 4.9 and an average of 4.14. The table shows the six listings with the most reviews, not all eight.
How do the Croydon ratings compare?
The pattern runs backwards from what you might expect. The listings with the most reviews score lowest. The listings with fewer reviews score highest.
| Gym | Rating | Reviews | Street |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sports Direct Fitness Croydon | 3.6 | 102 | Imperial Way |
| Nuffield Health Croydon Central Fitness & Wellbeing | 3.5 | 90 | Surrey St |
| Anytime Fitness Croydon Central | 3.9 | 59 | Scarbrook Rd |
| SN Combat Academy (SN Gym) | 4.8 | 44 | Drayton Rd |
| Free Yoga Classes @ freeyoga.co.uk | 4.9 | 18 | Mitcham Rd |
| Temple avenue copse | not rated | 0 | Temple Ave |
The Nuffield entry is cut off in our data, so the full name may read slightly longer. Three branded listings, Sports Direct, Nuffield Health and Anytime Fitness, sit between 3.5 and 3.9 on 59 to 102 reviews each. That's real volume, and we'd trust it more than a 4.9 from 18 people. SN Combat Academy is the interesting one: 4.8 from 44 reviews is a strong result by any measure, and its full listing name also mentions Muay Thai and kick boxing.
Are the Croydon scores all trustworthy?
Not equally. The 4.9 for Free Yoga Classes rests on 18 reviews. The address given is The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy on Mitcham Rd, so what you'd find there is a question for the organiser. Temple avenue copse has no rating and no reviews, and the name doesn't read like a gym to us. We've kept it in the table because it's in the data, and we'd skip it.
Where are the gyms in Croydon?
Streets in the data include Imperial Way, Surrey St, Crown Hill, Drayton Rd, Mitcham Rd, Scarbrook Rd and Temple Ave. The Anytime Fitness listing is at The Exchange, 4-6 Scarbrook Rd, and the Sports Direct one is at 33 Imperial Way. Croydon's listings are spread over several roads rather than gathered on one. We don't hold distances or travel times.
What is missing?
Quite a lot. No listing has opening hours. One has a phone number and one a website. Three of the eight have photos. We have no prices, class timetables or equipment lists, and nothing in the names proves any of them. Does a lower score mean a worse gym? Not by itself, but with 59 reviews or more behind each, a score under 4.0 is worth asking about on a visit.
