Does a higher score mean a better gym in Edinburgh?
Only when the review count agrees. Tribe Yoga Leith Walk scores a perfect 5.0 on 303 reviews, which is hard to wave away, but the name says yoga. For weights and machines, the best-evidenced listings are the three PureGym branches at 4.3, 4.4 and 4.3. The Bodybuilding and Fitness Gym Edinburgh is the one to watch: 4.9 on 46 reviews is a decent sample, though not a large one.
The 5.0s further down are another matter. Bodystreet Edinburgh Morningside has 22 reviews, Clanfit has 20 and LifesCycle has 11. We'd treat those as leads to check, not as winners. Drumsheugh Baths Club, Leith Pilates and Edinburgh Summerhall Yoga and Pilates are named for what they say, and we don't claim more.
