A 2 by 3 meter room is 6 square meters. That's a box room, a corner of a basement, or half a single garage bay, and it's the size people actually have.
The obvious rack for it is the Titan T-3 in its 82 by 24 inch version. The obvious problem: the barbell is longer than the room is wide. Eighty-six and a half inches, to be exact, against a room that's 78.7. So does the whole thing work at all?
It does, and the reason is one decision about which wall. I read the T-3, bar, bench, plate and spotter arm pages on Titan's site on October 17, 2026, converted the numbers to centimeters and ran them against the room. Nothing in this article is a measurement taken in a real room. It's arithmetic from published specs.
TL;DR: The T-3 82x24 fits a 2x3 m room against a 3 m wall, with 117 cm of floor left in front. The bar leaves only 40 cm at each end. A complete beginner kit from Titan's current prices comes to $1,605.85.
The Room in Inches and Centimeters
2 m is 78.7 inches. 3 m is 118.1 inches. Everything below uses those.
Titan's T-3 82 by 24lists:
- footprint 54 by 32.75 inches (137 by 83 cm)
- outside width 46 inches (117 cm), outside depth 30 inches (76 cm)
- height 82 inches (208 cm), pull-up bar at 78 inches (198 cm)
- 186 lb, rackable capacity 1,100 lb
Titan's current price is $559.97 against a $699.99 list. That's higher than the $519.97 we recorded on ourSeptember spec page, The price moved. The specs I compared didn't.
Now the bar. Titan'sPerformance Series Olympic baris 86.6 inches (220 cm) long, with a 16.25 inch loadable sleeve, a 28 mm shaft and a 700 lb rating. The room is 78.7 inches wide. The bar will not go across the short axis.
So the rack goes against a 3 m wall, uprights facing into the room, bar parallel to the wall.
The Fit, Step by Step
Along the 3 m wall. The room is 118.1 inches. The bar is 86.6. That leaves 31.5 inches of slack, or 15.7 inches (40 cm) at each end when the rack is centered. A 45 lb bumper plate is17.5 inches across. So the gap at each bar end is smaller than the plate you're sliding on. It works, but only if you slide plates straight on from the end, and it doesn't forgive a rack that drifted 5 cm off center.
This is the tightest number in the room. I'd put masking tape on the floor first, rack outline and bar line, before ordering anything.
Out from the wall. 78.7 inches minus the 32.75 inch footprint leaves 46 inches (117 cm) in front of the rack. Titan'sPerformance Series benchis 56 by 25 inches. Slid under the bar with its head near the back of the rack, the bench extends to roughly 60 inches from the wall, leaving about 19 inches (48 cm) behind its foot end. Enough to step around. Not enough to walk past comfortably.
Squatting. After you unrack, you step back from the hooks. With 46 inches of clear floor in front of the rack's footprint, you have room to walk out one comfortable step and set your feet. A long walkout isn't happening, which suits a beginner who should be squatting a short step back anyway.
Ceiling. A 78 inch pull-up bar and an 82 inch top leave plenty under a standard 240 cm (94.5 inch) ceiling. Overhead presses are the thing to check, as they're limited by your height, not the rack.
If the room has to serve as something else, Titan'sT-3 folding racklists 22.5 inches of depth in use and 5 inches folded, for $399.97, and a 1,100 lb rackable rating. It's 140 lb against the fixed T-3's 186. In a 2x3 m room, a fixed rack leaves 117 cm in front, and the folding one leaves about 143 cm in use. The tradeoff is the one it always is: you stop folding a rack you fold every day.
A Beginner Kit, Priced
One part the T-3 page doesn't say loudly: it includes two J-hooks and two pull-up bars. Titan's included list names no spotter arms. If you train alone, squat or bench without safeties is the one mistake I'd actively tell a beginner not to make.
| Item | Price (Oct 17, 2026) | Key spec |
|---|---|---|
| T-3 82 x 24 rack | $559.97 | 186 lb, 1,100 lb rackable |
| T-3 spotter arms | $114.97 | 800 lb per arm, 11-gauge |
| Performance Series bar | $167.97 | 86.6 in, 20 kg, 700 lb |
| Performance Series bench | $207.97 | 56 x 25 in, 650 lb |
| 260 lb crumb rubber bumper set | $554.97 | 445 mm plates |
| Total | $1,605.85 |
The rack, arms, bar and bench add up to $1,050.88. The plates are the other $554.97, about 35 percent of the whole budget, and a beginner won't load a 260 lb set for a long time. My recommendation, which you can disagree with: buy the pairs you need for the first few months, not the whole set. Titan sells 10, 15 and 25 lb as pairs and 35 and 45 lb individually, so the set isn't the only option. I didn't price the pairs, so check before assuming they're cheaper per pound.
Titan lists free shipping on the rack and a 1-year warranty on all five items. That's thin on a rack you'll keep for decades, and it's the one place the T-3 loses to the pricier brands, as ourRogue R-3 versus Titan T-3 comparisonshows.
Floor, Bolts and What to Skip
Titan recommends bolting the rack down. In a 6 square meter room with the bar ends 40 cm from the walls, I'd treat that as required. It also keeps the rack from creeping when you do a pull-up. Check what the floor is before you buy anchors.
Skip the cable tower in this room. TheT-3 plate loaded cable towerneeds the rack bolted and wants floor you don't have. Skip the treadmill. If the 2x3 m room is the whole gym, the bar and rack are the tools, and everything else should fold or hang. For the same idea in a bigger room, see our10x10 ft layoutand the3x4 m garage plan.
Is a rack in 6 square meters a good idea? For someone who wants to squat and bench with a barbell, yes. It's the smallest room I'd want to try it in. Anything tighter, and dumbbells are the better answer.
