Staff are extremely friendly, especially Beth the lovely lady who showed us around. Well worth joining.

No where near as good as all the other David Lloyd’s. I hope this Solihull one can move into a bigger space to make a nicer bigger outdoor space, more spaced out gym area etc. Crazy because Solihull is more expensive than other areas, yet this one is no where near as nice. Still a good gym regardless, but not worth the money at all.

I visited David Lloyd Solihull for the first time today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I attended with my daughter, who is a member. Her mother and grandmother are also members, which is how she holds her membership. My daughter is dependent and has very visible disabilities, so I was there as her father and carer. I was refused entry because I am not a member and could not use a guest pass without an accompanying adult member. While I understand that rules and policies exist, what was most frustrating was the complete lack of willingness to help or find a reasonable solution given the circumstances. The customer service I received from the older lady on reception was particularly poor. As I tried to explain the situation and ask if there was any way I could pay to enter so I could support my daughter, I felt dismissed and brushed aside. She seemed more interested in moving on to the next customer than actually listening or helping. The apology I received felt insincere and rushed. Considering my daughter is a member with clear additional needs, I would have expected a far more understanding and accommodating approach. Instead, the interaction lacked empathy and left me feeling that there was little consideration for disabled members and their carers. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing first experience. I hope the club reflects on how situations like this are handled in future, especially where disability and care are involved.

Not worth the price we pay for our family membership anymore. We have had two children love the club for the classes they did with the kids team, they loved Lee, and also enjoyed swim lessons with Keeley, both a credit to your team. Our youngest daughter is sadly not enjoying the club anymore and the staff make it an unpleasant environment to be in. The managers seem to walk around like they own the place and barely seem to actually get anything done. Please sort out the state of the machines and the cleanliness and poor state of repair in the gym and changing rooms. There is mould in the showers and the grouting around the poolside tiles is disgusting. In general stay away from the staff. Some of the reception staff are next to useless and never seem to pick up the phone! Libby swim staff is very rude and lacks skills to have any discussions with parents. I have asked her multiple times for what we need to focus on outside of lessons and she just makes an excuse to walk away, not acceptable for a premium club. My youngest has now moved elsewhere for swimming as the classes were not enjoyable and there was a lack of progress. The lifeguards should be reminded of how to address lane space for swimming as often there are kids playing in lanes which makes it impossible to have an adult swim without risk of being hit my a float or ball. Overall, not impressed, it’s had its day, time to move.
