Connect Gym Navigator to Claude Code

Claude Code takes remote MCP servers from the command line, which makes this the shortest setup of the lot. There is no settings panel to find and no JSON to write: one command, and the next session already knows about your gyms and your journal.

The one-step way

This is the whole setup. The steps below only describe what happens after you run it.

Setup, step by step

    Run the add command

    From any project directory, run the command above. Claude Code stores the server and reads its tool list on the next start.

  2. 2
    Authorize when it asks

    The first tool call opens the browser for approval. Sign in with Google if you want the journal written to your own Drive; skip it and the journal stays in the session.

  3. 3
    Check it landed

    Run /mcp to list connected servers. Gym Navigator should be there with its tools.

Good to know

  • Scope matters: add --scope user to make it available in every project rather than this one.
  • Remove it with claude mcp remove gym-navigator if you want to start over.

What to ask once it's connected

The connector exposes 8 tools. You never call them by name, you just talk, and Claude Codepicks the right one. Each tool has its own page with example prompts:
