We had a wonderful lunch at Gymkhana for our anniversary and really enjoyed the whole experience. The food was excellent, with the Goan prawn curry being a real standout, it was absolutely amazing and full of flavour. A special mention must go to Lloyi, who served us. He was incredibly attentive, friendly and went out of his way to make sure we were well looked after throughout the meal. His service really added to the experience and made our visit feel special. Thank you for a lovely meal, we'll definitely be recommending Gymkhana.

We visited Gymkhana for my husband's birthday lunch and it was an impeccable experience from start to finish. We have visited other iconic Michelin-starred Indian restaurants in the city, but the atmosphere here is unparalleled. We were seated on the lower ground floor in the plush sofa booths, which provided the perfect intimate setting for a celebration. The food was outstanding. As a vegetarian, the Beetroot Chops Pao (with the banger ghati masala!) and the silken Methi Malai Mutter Paneer were standouts - expertly spiced and beautifully presented. My husband opted for the Salmon and the Chicken Butter Masala and claimed it was the best he has ever eaten. We finished with the Kulfi Falooda which was the perfect celebratory end to the meal. Special mention to our host, Denzel, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He truly made our afternoon feel special and looked after us with such warmth. If you are looking for top-tier hospitality and world-class food, this is the place. We'll be dreaming of that kulfi falooda for a long time!

On 29 January, my friend and I visited Gymkhana in London to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it turned into a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, elegant, and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a special evening. We started with cocktails, and both the Masala Margarita and the Bhang Lassi were outstanding - full of character, perfectly balanced, and honestly among the best cocktails we've ever had.We explored the menu and ordered a wide selection of starters, including Duck Egg Bhurji, Lobster, Amritsari Shrimp & Queenies, and Beetroot Chops Pao. Every single starter was packed with flavour and beautifully executed. The Duck Egg Bhurji was rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced. The Amritsari Shrimp & Queenies were crisp, flavourful, and cooked to perfection and the Beetroot Chops Pao were creative, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. All of the starters were exceptional and are easily our all-time favourites. For mains, we chose the signature Tandoori Masala Lamb Chops and the Chicken Butter Masala. The lamb chops were incredibly juicy with a deep, smoky flavour and cooked to perfection. The chicken butter masala had a rich, creamy gravy with a subtle charcoal finish and paired beautifully with the freshly baked naan.Dessert was the Rasgulla Tiramisu, a unique and delightful fusion that ended the meal perfectly. The service was spectacular, especially from William, Denise, Anfisa, Switzerland, Lloyd and the entire Gymkhana team, who made us feel genuinely looked after throughout the evening. The birthday candle with chocolate mousse and a signed postcard from the Gymkhana team was a thoughtful and memorable touch. We enjoyed every moment and will definitely be returning.

It's a well discussed place in London for Indian food. Always fully booked If walk in u might get the bar counter table downstairs if lucky Atmosphere is beautiful high end bond street type of luxury restaurant decoration Staff are very nice and attending Good service Good. Prob something people can debate. I had the famous Lamb Chop and Butter chicken curry and bread and rice Well. In general it's salty to me Especially the lamb Chicken. I feel just a bit over cooked so texture is a bit rough on my dishes. Taste and curry ok So, it's not the best Indian food I had in town but ok It's expensive in someway Not bad experience

We dined at Gymkhana last night to celebrate our engagement and were unfortunately disappointed. All of our starters came within 5 minutes of ordering, making our table incredibly full, with a rushed atmosphere. All while our server was constantly monitoring our table, almost desperate to take away our plates before we had finished a dish and quickly moved us onto the mains. The sommelier was lovely and knowledgeable but we were only half way through our cocktails and our wine was already being poured, which contributed to the rushed impression. This is not the sort of pacing we would expect from a Michelin star restaurant, never mind a 2 star. We really had the feeling like they were desperate to move us on to get the next cover in the door. By the time our lamb chops, dal and venison biryani came, we were absolutely stuffed and could barely even touch our courses. We're a couple who love to eat and had eaten lightly all day in anticipation of this meal so feel we were recommended far too much food for 2. There were some special touches, as I mentioned to the sommelier that it was our engagement and he organised two glasses of champagne and a desert. However I had mentioned this on my booking and I have to wonder, had I not said something on the night if this level of service would have been given. The food overall was enjoyable, with bold flavours but was in no way worth the well over £400 bill. We've been to Dishoom and for being quadruple the price of that is quite extraordinary. Experience felt like a solid restaurant with nice interiors and food but an enormous let down for us wanting to experience a truly special meal 2 Michelin star meal to celebrate our engagement.
